South of Mallorca, past the last of the coves, lies Cabrera: a small archipelago given over entirely to a marine and land national park. Access is limited and permit-controlled, which is exactly why it has stayed so unspoilt — clear water, healthy sea life and a stillness the mainland coves lost long ago.
We hold the permit, so the paperwork is ours to worry about, not yours. The day is built around the crossing — around an hour and forty each way — and the reward is a protected anchorage in the main harbour, the famous Blue Cave to explore by tender, and snorkelling in water that shows exactly why the park exists. It is a long, memorable full day; on calm settled weather it is one of the finest things you can do from Palma. Message the crew early, as park moorings are limited.
