Cala Pi is a proper hidden inlet — a narrow slot in the south-coast cliffs opening onto a wedge of fine, pale sand and turquoise shallows. From the water it is far more impressive than any photo taken from the clifftop above.

The cliffs give it real shelter, and the shallow, sandy entrance turns the water an unreal blue. We anchor off the mouth of the inlet, swim in towards the beach, and let the group drift between the boat and the sand. Around an hour and five each way makes it an easy, unhurried full day on the quieter southern coast.
