Caló des Moro & Cala Figuera — the photographed coves

The most photographed cove in Mallorca — and far better from the water than the queue on the cliff.

Caló des Moro is the tiny, perfect cove you have seen a hundred times online: a scoop of white sand between steep pine-clad cliffs, water the colour of a swimming pool. From the clifftop it means a scramble and a crowd. From the sea, it is yours to swim into.

The neighbouring Cala Figuera is just as lovely and quieter still. This is a longer run — around two hours and ten each way to the southeast corner — so it works best as a full, early-start day, and it rewards the effort. We anchor off the cove, swim in past the cliffs, and you experience the famous spot the way almost no one else does: from the water, without the climb. Best on calm days; the crew will steer the day by the forecast.
